Please Join Me for the Ride for Aids Chicago 2019
Hello Friends, Family, Colleagues and Supporters.
It's that time of year again! I am very excited to share with you that on September 7 & 8 2019 I will be joining hundreds of other riders and crew on our 200 mile ride in support of the 2019 Ride for Life Chicago (RFLC) and The Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN). This year we ride from Chicago to New Haven Michigan and back to Chicago.
I'm participating in this event to raise vital funds to support HIV/AIDS services in the community. In addition, through my participation, and with your support, we will continue to raise awareness around HIV/AIDS in an effort to reduce the debilitating effects of shame and stigma associated with this illness. This is my fifth year of participating and I truly appreciated everyone’s help and support in previous rides.
Speaking of support, the Crew for this event is critical to RFAC's success - Whether it's organizing a training ride, SAG (during training or RFLC) etc. These individuals really are the backbone of this experience. If you are thinking about supporting RFLC, but riding isn't for you, consider being part of the Crew. Ask anyone that has done this before and they will tell you that there is no shortage of comradery, friendship and a tremendous sense of accomplishment and contribution to this worthy cause. The months of training and preparing for this Ride are nothing compared to what people living with HIV/AIDS go through on a daily basis.
2019 is sure to be another incredible experience. Come join us!
Through the Ride for Life Chicago, thousands of donors and more than 300 volunteer cyclists, advocates, crew, and team members help provide care to 2,000 people every year in Chicago and a lifeline of HIV health and treatment information to more than 100,000 people across the country. Our mission is to empower all lives affected by HIV and its many health challenges. The name “Ride for Life” reflects this event’s powerful impact: every mile, every donation and sponsorship, and every volunteer helps save lives through the work of TPAN and our community partners.
