Hello from Jorts!
Welp, it's official. I'm back in the bike seat for the 2019 Ride for Life. Last year I took a break and crewed, but suffered a horrible FOMO attack on the second day. This year I'm comitted to ride 100 miles on day 2, and I would love your support.
I'm inspired by my amazing teammates and all of the other riders and crew. To work beside people who are HIV positive, who struggle daily with their disease and the public perecption thereof, is so humbling. If they have the strength to speak out in the face of HIV/AIDS, riding my bike for 100 miles in jean shorts is the literal least I can do.
Through the Ride for Life Chicago, thousands of donors and more than 300 volunteer cyclists, advocates, crew, and team members help provide care to 2,000 people every year in Chicago and a lifeline of HIV health and treatment information to more than 100,000 people across the country. Our mission is to empower all lives affected by HIV and its many health challenges. The name “Ride for Life” reflects this event’s powerful impact: every mile, every donation and sponsorship, and every volunteer helps save lives through the work of TPAN and our community partners.
