Thanks for visiting my 2018 Ride for AIDS Chicago page!
Test Positive Aware Network provides essential testing, counseling and support services to thousands of local recipients every year and the environment for grants and public funding is tougher than ever. The fight against HIV/AIDS is not over despite great advances in treatment.
On September 8th and 9th, I will be cycling 230 miles in support of TPAN on the 2018 Ride for AIDS Chicago. This is my 7th consecutive year and it's both a challenging and rewarding way to help raise funds for services that are so needed in our community.
It is also my honor to lead Team WCCC once again this year. Over the past 7 years our team has raised more than $120,000 for this cause, and we have our largest contingent of riders and crew ever for this year's ride. My goal for our team is to help TPAN with our biggest collective donor contributions yet for 2018! (We need your generous help to accomplish that)
In addition, through my participation and with your support, we will continue to raise awareness around HIV in an effort to reduce the debilitating effects of shame and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
Please consider helping with any amount that you can. From covering the cost of a group counseling session, one or more HIV tests and follow-up visits, transportation to and from clinics, and more, you'll be making a real difference in people's lives. Thank you for supporting my efforts and TPAN. Every bit helps and no donation is too small.
Our goal for this year is to reach $600k in fundraising! Every one of those dollars goes a long way. In 2017 TPAN provided 992 Chicagoans with compassionate, individualized care and services. Imagine what your participation will help TPAN achieve for 2018. $50 alone, covers the cost of 1 two-hour session with a licensed therapist.
We all have to start somewhere!
