Welcome to My Personal Page
So, I think this will be my 6th or 7th ride? It has been a great experience for me. I've met so many people, seen so many great things, learned so much about compassion/caring/riding/AIDS.. It also led as a gateway to riding and racing bikes with Spidermonkey Cycling!
But, this year I ride with different intentions. The money we raise, as always, goes to a great cause. But this year I ride for my number one advocate, my mom. Many of you probably know she passed away this year, which has knocked my world off kilter. But in an attempt to honor her (and regain my own sanity/fitness) I'm going to ride 200 miles with a bunch of great people who literally are saving lives.
My mom was an incredible philanthropist, not only always donated to my rides, she donated to so many great causes that changed lives as well. Dogs, veterans, poor, nature, birds, political change, homeless, I grew up knowing that a part of having a good life was trying to help others improve theirs. She was never too short to give to nearly anyone who needed.
In that vain this year, again, I ride. To raise money, to honor my mom, to improve my life, but most importantly to help those dealing with AIDS.
Please give as you can. You have no idea how much it will mean to me.
Through the Ride for Life Chicago, thousands of donors and more than 300 volunteer cyclists, advocates, crew, and team members help provide care to 2,000 people every year in Chicago and a lifeline of HIV health and treatment information to more than 100,000 people across the country. Our mission is to empower all lives affected by HIV and its many health challenges. The name “Ride for Life” reflects this event’s powerful impact: every mile, every donation and sponsorship, and every volunteer helps save lives through the work of TPAN and our community partners.
