Over two days this summer, September 8 and 9, I will again ride my bicycle 200+ miles in support of those living with HIV/AIDS. I will continue to ride in honor of my friend “Neil”, who receives services from the Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN). Last year I wrote about how TPAN has given him full support for the past 26 years, and essentially saved his life. What’s cool is that most recently, Neil has been attending group sessions with others affected by HIV/AIDS:
“The TPAN group has been great for getting to know others my age or older who have been going through the same issues. We've discussed self-confidence, dealing with insurance issues, dating, planning for the future, etc.”
Providing wrap-around services is how TPAN holistically is able to help so many men and women. The thing is HIV/AIDS disproportionately affects low income individuals and families, which makes your support all the more important.
Please consider a tax-deductible gift today for Neil, and others living with HIV/AIDS.
Our goal for this year is to reach $600k in fundraising! Every one of those dollars goes a long way. In 2017 TPAN provided 992 Chicagoans with compassionate, individualized care and services. Imagine what your participation will help TPAN achieve for 2018. $50 alone, covers the cost of 1 two-hour session with a licensed therapist.
We all have to start somewhere!
