April 7, 2022

We hope you are having a good week and your fundraising and training is going well! Let's get started!

Outdoor Training

Let’s try this again! We are hosting our first outdoor training this Saturday, April 9th. We’ll start from the parking lot of Winnemac Ride for Life Chicago, let's ridePark. Please plan to be there no later than 8:30 AM. Our training sponsor, Rush PT, will lead us through some dynamic stretching, and we will make a few announcements. Shorter and long distances are planned. The forecast looks a little cool for Saturday. Here are recommendations for staying warm while cycling this time of year.

Email our training lead, Patrick, at P.lannon@tpan.com if you plan to attend.
Patrick is also a great resource for your questions about training.

In the event that we have to cancel the training due to weather, we’ll make an announcement in the RFLC Facebook group and update the events and training calendar.

We hope to see you on Friday

Join us for a TPAN Ride for Life Chicago Happy Hour at My Buddy's this Friday, April 8, 6 - 7 pm. $10 gets you into the hosted bar.

Feel free to invite friends! Be sure to let us know you'll be there.

Meet our TPAN Ride for Life Chicago Committee

Are you aware that TPAN Ride for Life Chicago has a committee? For months, these warriors have been working behind the scenes to plan this year's event. All of their effort and tireless support will be forever appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to any of the committee members with your questions.

Fundraising Tip of the Week: What have you learned so far?

Consider starting your fundraising in the next few days if you've just gotten started. Avoid putting yourself under unnecessary stress by waiting until the last minute. There are so many people who are willing to support you if you just ask.

Our event team is on hand to assist and inspire you. We can also chat in person if that's what you prefer. If you have not yet reached your fundraising goal, we will contact you periodically to help.

Next week, we'll discuss how to plan your fundraising event.

Program of the Week: TPAN’s Tea Room

The Tea Room, TPAN's drop-in youth center, is a safe space for young adults to congregate and find help and community.  Here you will find a washer-dryer for your use, snacks, TV, video games, a computer, and easy access to services, including medical care, housing assistance, mental health services, and an onsite food pantry.  Anyone between the ages of 18-29 and a member of the LGBTQ community or an ally is welcome, regardless of HIV-status, race, or gender. All services at the Tea Room are free and open to the public. Here is Yamari, who works in the Tea Room talking about what happens in the space.
