ABOUT TPAN

We innovate care and serve the most at-risk members of our community.

Our mission is to prevent and alleviate HIV-related health disparities and empower people living with HIV. As TPAN continues to grow, we've evolved from a community-based effort to a full-service health organization that is a critical safety-net provider during the COVID-19 crisis.

Our staff has been busier than ever during the COVID-19 crisis. We have remained committed to our clients throughout the pandemic, delivering services in person and virtually. Despite the many challenges, we reached over 1,200 people last year—from helping LGBTQ homeless youth find emergency shelter and food to making sure older adults living with HIV can safely travel to medical appointments. COVID-19 will have a lasting impact on the people we serve for years to come.

We serve individuals of all races, ethnicities, and gender identities and backgrounds. Many of the people accessing our services are LGBTQ individuals or people of color, who are among the most affected by HIV in Chicago.

TPAN is the only non-profit in the U.S. to publish a national education and health news magazine, Positively Aware. Positively Aware connects people in rural areas, underserved cities, prisons, and care systems with HIV-specific health information.

Give. Ride. Go further. For life.

TPAN depends heavily on Ride for Life Chicago to raise funds for our programs. Grants are not enough to cover all expenses for our many programs. Our services are a lifeline for the vulnerable people we reach living with HIV and dealing with extreme poverty, mental illness, stigma, homelessness, substance abuse, and unemployment. COVID-19 has only intensified these concerns. The Ride provides the resources we need to address the increased needs of our clients.

When you give to TPAN, your efforts have a profound impact. Consider how your support makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve:

$25 helps cover the costs of an HIV/STD testing/counseling session and testing kit.

$75 helps TPAN build our groundbreaking dog program Paws N Effect.

$150 supports TPAN's housing navigation and case management experts' care for a homeless or unstably housed client.

$250 covers a week's expenses to provide homeless LGBTQ youth with basic needs care, such as meals, clothing, and support.

$1,200 (or a gift of $100 per month) establishes you as a Leadership Circle supporter in helping TPAN provide health care and services to thousands of people every year.
