ABOUT TPAN

TPAN exterior
TPAN has been helping people living with HIV and at-risk populations for more than 30 years. We have grown from a small, community-based organization into a comprehensive health organization that includes a drop-in center for LGBTQ youth.

Thousands of Chicagoans benefit from our services and we draw clients from underserved neighborhoods of Chicago, with nearly 1 in 5 clients residing in communities on Chicago’s South Side.

The majority of people who access our services are LGBTQ individuals or people of color, who are among the most affected by HIV in Chicago.

Curtis Hardman Quote

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic underlines the importance of TPAN's role as a safety net for our community’s most vulnerable residents. People most at risk of chronic illness and health disparities are our clients. We're tackling health equity by helping our clients address essential needs such as housing, food, healthcare, and affordable medications. No one who walks through our doors is turned away from receiving assistance.

With TPAN, you get holistic client care, and we offer more than just HIV care. Our broad range of on-site services includes a food pantry, mental health care, housing, substance abuse and treatment programs, and testing for HIV and hepatitis. Our services are a lifeline for people living with HIV and suffering from poverty, mental illness, stigma, homelessness, substance abuse, and unemployment.

TPAN relies heavily on Ride for Life Chicago to raise money for our programs. Like most nonprofits, grants don't cover everything. Our event fundraising fills the gap left by grants.
